SDPPI is the abbreviation of Direktorat Standardisasi Perangkat Pos dan Informatika in Indonesian. It refers to the Indonesian Post and Information Equipment Standardization Bureau. Radio equipment and telecommunications equipment must be approved by SDPPI before they can be legally used and sold in Indonesia. The industry refers to the Indonesian radio and telecommunications equipment approval process as SDPPI certification.
SDPPI promulgated the equipment certification procedure: the applicant must be a local Indonesian legal entity (registered in the SDPPI system to obtain a PLG ID), and submit a series of documents such as test reports, technical documents, and authorization letters in the SDPPI electronic system. After the SDPPI audit is completed A certificate of conformity is issued.
The test report needs to be issued by a laboratory accredited by SDPPI. SDPPI recognizes laboratories in Indonesia and overseas laboratories. The main conditions for overseas laboratories are that the accreditation institution and SDPPI have MRA agreements and ISO17025 qualifications. Currently, SDPPI promulgated Decree No. 2020/36 to temporarily recognize foreign laboratories for telecommunications equipment other than mobile phones, laptops and tablets.
